Mio GPS Receiver with MP3 Player
Mio Technology - Model 269
Mio technology has launched an interesting new GPS that bridges the gap between stand alone GPS receiver and media players.
The new Mio 269 GPS receiver is a stand alone GPS with a 2.5 GB hard drive on board, a build in MP3 player (0.5GB available for media) that has base maps for North America already loaded.
The Mio 269 GPS Receiver is auto-routing capable with the ability to generate directions to a location on the fly, navigating to points of interest (restaurants, ATMs, etc.) addresses, or favorite locations that you program. Maps are displayed in landscape view on a 3.5†TFT touch screen LCD and in 2D or 3D. It comes with rechargeable Lithium Ion battery that allows up to 4.5 hours of operation, 3.5†color display, 32 MB flash ROM and 64 MB SDRAM, touch screen keyboard (stylus pen), built-in 1 in. loudspeaker, headphone jack, infrared remote control, and for the ultimate in mobility, mounting hardware for automobiles and bikes. Seems like a nice set-up for listening to some tunes while geocaching, or just out on the road. The Mio 269 is 5in x 3in x 1in thick, and weighs just 8 ounces. You get a travel case, AC and car adapter and USB cable for uploading MP3’s. It also has an SD slot, which supports cards up to 1GB. The MSRP for the standard Mio 269 is $799. It is available at Amazon.com.
