New Product - Garmin StreetPilot 2720
Garmin has launched a new high end GPS receiver for the car, the Garmin Streetpilot 2720.
This adds to the line of portable StreetPilots, and is capable of text-to-speech and optional traffic capability.
The Garmin StreetPilot 2720 has some standard features that make it highly funcitonal, like pre-programed maps of North America (US, Canada, Puerto Rico), and over six million points of interest. An interesting and potentially highly useful feature is the ability to upload your own Points of Interest )POI), in bulk via a CSV format. You can then set an alarm for proximiaty to those POIs, warning you when you get close. This can be particularly useful if you upload the location of Safety Cameras that monitor for speeders, or running red lights. It connects to the computer via USB, and has a 12 volt input for the car. Read more on the StreetPilot 2720 a the Garmin Website. Street Price $1099.
