GPS Review: Garmin StreetPilot c340 - compact, traffic enabled

UPDATE: CNET has taken a look at the Garmin StreetPilot C340 and has a few more details on the new unit. specifically they add some info on the traffic avoidance features:
"The c340 also shows you congested traffic areas via color-coded maps, but to take advantage of this feature, you'll have to purchase the optional traffic receiver for $199.99, which includes 15 months of service."

Garmin introduced the Garmin StreetPilot C340 today along with the other crop of new models. The Streetpilot c340 is a compact lower priced model that has adopted the traffic ready feed features of the higher priced Streetpilot 2720. (See related coverage HERE. The c340 has text to speech, and an easy to use interface that is a flat out requirement these days for any auto GPS navigator. The optional ability to add traffic alerts allows the c340 to display traffic issues, and offer you a route around back-ups. Garmin has also added the ability to upload Points of Interest and apply proximity alerts to these POI's to notify you when you are getting close to that particular point.
The Streetpilot c340 comes pre-loaded with their highly detailed City Select NT map data for the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. The pre-loaded maps also include over 6 million POI's, like ATM's, hotels, restaurants, gas stations, etc.
The Garmin StreetPilot C340 has a 3.5 inch diagonal color touchscreen, dual integrated speakers, and a lithium ion battery for when you are away from the 12v outlet in the car. It secures to the windshield with a suctioncup mount.
