GPS NEWS: Mio GPS Smartphone A701
News of Mio's first GPS smartphone the Mio A701 has hit the wires, and it is configured as a Windows Mobile based phone. The specifications are a 520MHz Intel XScale PXA270 processor with 192MB of memory of which 64MB as ROM. The phone has a 2.7 inch 240x320 pixel display, and a 1.3MP camera on the back side. It supports GSM and GPRS. It has Bluetooth connectivity and has an SD slot for expandability. Sorry - no WiFi.
With the GPS receiver integrated into the phone body, there's no flip up antenna, and only a slight bulge in the corner, where the SirfStar III chipset is housed.
Gotta say that the thing looks great in black.......
No information is available about pricing on the Mio A701.

DigiTimes announced the launch of A700, which is the Asian version of A701.
Sexy, but I'd prefer the European version.
The Location SMS function rocks though. :)
