Hertz and Magellan bring NeverLost to Europe
Well the Automobile GPS wars get another chapter, and this one has Magellan bringing the roots of their car GPS product line success to Europe for a little search and reapply. Hertz will be rolling out the popular NeverLost product in Europe throughout 2006. They will be rolling to 5 countries this month: France, Germany, The UK, Italy, and Germany. The NeverLost system is a modified Magellan RoadMate 760 that gets a lot of business travelers in front of a high end Magellan product for a few dollars, pounds, Euros a day and gets much needed trial. Once these folks learn what a great product this is, they often decide that they want one for home. At least that's the plan for Magellan.

"The Hertz NeverLost program enjoys tremendous success because of the great rental experience and the quality of the navigation solution. We look forward to building on that success by partnering with Hertz in Europe and giving more travelers the chance to experience the freedom of first-class portable GPS navigation."

According to the press release, the Hertz NeverLost Portable is also the only rental navigation system to provide:
* Automatic volume control so it can be heard above wind and traffic noise when the vehicle reaches higher speeds.
* QuickSpell feature for easy data entry.
* A larger and brighter, more clear display for greater visibility than competing systems.
* Online booking through the Hertz website. A highly user-friendly and tested solution based on the expertise and experience of the Magellan brand in vehicle navigation solutions.
