Another great review for the Garmin StreetPilot 2720 GPS
Another great review of the Garmin StreetPilot 2720 has surfaced, raising it up as one of the better GPS units out there to consider for the holiday season. The StreetPilot 2720 is a higher end unit that incorporates a sleek touchscreen with advanced GPS features bundled with the optional traffic feed system for a well rounded feature set. The Garmin interface is a pretty well accomplished system, that can be found throughout the Garmin StreetPilot line from the i-series (See our Review) to up through the C-Series and into the successful 2600 and 2700 series.
The StreetPilot 2720 comes preloaded with complete maps for the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. As with most GPS navigation systems in this class, it provides several choices for orienting the displayed map: 2D North, 2D Track up, and 3D track up views are available in both the map and navigation modes. You can also adjust the displayed text size for most screen elements, including street names, exits, and city names.
The large screen is easy to see and use, even in sunlight. The touchscreen makes data entry easy then you need to input addresses, or locations that you want to navigate to.
The Traffic feeds are adequate, but not as detailed as your local copter alerts.
Another feature that gets added at this level is a text to speech capability that announces the name of the upcoming street when telling you to turn. A nice feature.
