Magellan MapSend BlueNav XL3 North America
Magellan has released a new mapping solution for saltwater and major navigable inland waterways, for use the Magellan eXplorist 400, 500, 600 and XL, as well as the Magellan Meridian series. Magellan MapSend BlueNav XL3 delivers advanced marine cartography for GPS handhelds including information on tides, currents, depth contours, navaids, port services and more.
“MapSend Blue Nav XL3 provides a wealth of useful map information to enhance marine navigation for everyone from kayakers to yachtsmen and especially small boaters,” said John Parrott, Product Manager for Magellan content and mapping. “The extensive navigation aids help you explore new waters more confidently, and find your way more easily from a dock to a specific place you want to fish or dive. The software shows where to find moorings, supplies, and services, and helps mariners avoid shipping lanes, restricted areas and obstructions such as shoals, wrecks and other structures. Magellan MapSend BlueNav XL3 software provides numerous map options and navigation aids for the Pacific Coast, Atlantic Coast, Gulf Coast, the Bahamas and the Great Lakes. The software is easy to use by simply inserting the SD card directly into the GPS and activating the detailed chart. The handheld will show the users precise location in relation to the contour of the coast or shoreline, and provides quick access to tide, current, depth and port services information as they navigate.
The software uses genuine Navionics Gold XL3 charts to provide three times the coverage of XL charts for an outstanding value at just US$199.99 each. Each of the 18 regions, sold separately, comes ready to use as a preloaded secure digital (SD) memory card. Magellan MapSend BlueNav XL3 North America will be available at www.magellanGPS.com and assorted retailers in mid-December.
