TomTom ONE released in the UK
The TomTom ONE was released in the UK today just in time for the holiday season. The TomTom ONE has hit the continent, but TomTom has not announced any plans for a US roll out. The unit is squarely targeted at the entry level automotive GPS segment, with a price lower than the TomTom GO 300. The new TomTom ONE has the now widely used SiRFStar III chipset which is well known for its accuracy and low power draw.
The TomTom ONE comes with a touchscreen, that has an anti-glare coating, which is a big plus for this unit. The operating system is expected to be the same high quality as the rest of the line with intuitive menus and fairly flexible configurations. Of course it has typical navigation options (fastest, shortest routing), and types of items to avoid (highways, etc), but it also has spoken word turn signals, and speed adaptive volume. Like the rest of the TomTom line, the TomTom ONE comes with integrated Bluetooth which allows you to use your Bluetooth enabled phone to tap into the TomTom Plus services: Weather, traffic and voice downloads.
