More Garmin Upgrades: Vista Cx, Legend Cx, GPSMap 60CSx and 76 CSx
It appears that Garmin will be introducing more product upgrades in the near future that will include the SiRFstarIII chipset, known for its accuracy and low power draw. The big news here is also that Garmin is FINALLY, yes FINALLY going to removable media for added space. They are moving to the very diminutive Trans-Flash (Also known as Micro SD) chips that are not much bigger than your fingertip. I have seen them in sizes up to 512 MB around the web. It's about time.
The the new model, allows for a whopping 36 hours of use in the Garmin Vista Cx. This is an improvement of 16 hours from the current Garmin Vista C, which claims 20 hours. I have the monochrome eTrex Vista which was only good for about 12 hours, in normal use, which made it not good for 2 solid days of use. When I bought the Vista C it was a huge improvement and brought it to a good 2 days of solid use out on the road. The move to 36 hours will be fantastic, and may just seem like it will never run out of batteries.
Right now, Garmin eTrex Legend Cx, eTrex Vista Cx, GPSMap 60Cx, GPSMap 60CSx, GPSMap 76 Cx and GPSMap 76CSx are showing up on the web. Apparently these should be available in December.
YEA!
