GPS device keeps you from speeding!

Apparently Transport Canada wants to use some GPS technology to make it nearly impossible to speed. The new device combines both a GPS and a speed zone map that will tap into the car and make it hard to speed. It's been tried in Sweden, the Netherlands and Briton. Citing the fact that speed is a factor in 25% of all fatal crashes, proponents think that this is a good safety practice.


In Europe, there is support for insurance companies to give discounts to users of speed-limiting technology. Some even want the devices to be mandatory in all vehicles.

Ouch - keep that idea to yourself. I'd never survive.
