Strong sales for Mio

Mio's parent company Mitac, it reporting strong sales of GPS (Global Positioning System) handheld devices, Mitac International hit a record revenue high of US$216 million in November, up 29.59% on-year, according to the company. Accumulated sales from January to November of this year totaled US$2.01 billion, rising 29.59% from the same period in 2004.

Mitac is expected to enjoy a 40% shipment growth in 2006, to 4.2 million GPS devices, company sources indicated. The company estimates its GPS shipments to hit three million units this year, up 216% from 2004.
