New MotionBased Software Announced

MotionBased is reporting that they have released a new version of their agent that will make for a few changes in their system. Recall that MotionBased is an online service, owned by Garmin, that allows you to upload GPS information about your training loops so that you can view them online and analyze them. We reviewed MotionBased, before Garmin bought them late last year and like it a lot for its display of data and its ability to “Dot Race”. Dot Racing is the ability to race one day’s training loop vs another day’s training loop graphically on the map. It can really help you understand where you slowed down and where your trouble spots are. Motionbased is free for a basic version of the service, while full features cost between $7.95 and $11.95 per month depending on your payment plan.
A summary of the new software changes are:
Heart Rate Zones Preferences – Expanded capability to configure the Heart Rate data on the MotionBased website.
Search - Improved keyword search for finding activities Digest and TrailNetwork.
Google Maps - Support for Europe!!
Activity Type Assignment - Your most frequent activity types are listed first for easier assignment.
Upload Process – This has changed and adds a lag to the processing of your training data before it gets to your inbox. This allows for more efficient processing on their end.
