TomTom Denies Problems with New GO Line

According to DigiTimes, TomTom has denied that there are any problems with their new GO line of the GO 510, GO 710 and GO 910. Apparently there are some rumors flying around Europe that the new GO line has problems.
"TomTom International BV, on June 22 denied industry rumors that the TomTom GO 510, 710 and 910 series GPS (global positioning system) navigation devices made by Quanta Computer have defects with some being returned by retailers in the European market, according to TomTom's investment relations manager Taco Titulaer."
The article also points out that demand is strong for these units as their shipments this quarter, typically a strong quarter for GPS shipments will exceed last quarter's. They also point out that the margins should improve as the new GO line has higher margins than the product sold in late 2005.

I've used both of the earlier TomTom products (a 300 and a 700, the 700 most extensively) for varying lengths of time and have found that they've been very good. I'm surprised to hear that TomTom is having trouble with their new line. I got a few close friends that swear by their new TomToms (a couple upgrades and a couple "newbies"). Never the less, I'm sure that in the interest of good CS, TomTom will do right by their customers.
My Tom Tom 300 which I just received seems to have a problem with maps not upgraded from several years back and it continually asks me to turn from the correct highway to the older one,
Is there any thing I can do to upgrade it.
has anyone having problems with tomtom 710 freezing? im on my third unit the 2 previous be returned, the set navigates well then after being switched off refuses to start up again just shows the tomtom logo wallpaper then refuses to start or switch off.
Jon,
I have the same problem as well, but added to this the visual sign to take out the SD chip comes on. It then instructs me to put it back in which does not work. I have found that I have to leave the thing off for an hour then it boots again. arrrgghhh
Cheers
I am going through my 2nd episode in 3 months with TomTom Tech Support trying to get my GO 920 to stop flipping screens on its own. This time, my unit went crazy on me during a road trip. I called Tech Support expressing my frustration and disappointment, when I asked if I bought another TomTom would that rid me of my worries. The guy on the other end said “…No sir, we’ve been having the same problem with a lot of other units”
OMG!!!! …. Shame on TomTom!!!...
