Philips GPS: PNS 100, 120, 150
So some more details have emerged on the new Philips GPS units that are coming out this year. Recall last month that Philips announced their intention to enter the GPS navigation market this year with a line up of GPS units to be launched in time for the holidays this year. Good move, since most GPS units are either sold in the US/European Spring – right before Road Trip season, or for the holidays when everyone wants to buy the perfect gift. More details to follow...
The PNS 100, 120, and 150 will all come with these cool little cradles that have built-in speaker, amplifier and a few control buttons. The control buttons allow you to control the GPS or you can elect to use the touch screen on the main unit. The PNS 100 will be the basic navigator in the line with a single Euro country’s maps pre-loaded, while the PNS 120 will up the ante to include a traffic receiver to help you navigate around traffic jams. Finally the PNS 150 adds all maps of Western Europe. No news on US market plans. The units are all small, at about 4 inches lone and less than an inch thick. The units will be launching in Europe this September (PNS 100) and October (PNS 120, PNS 150).
