New GPS: Magellan RoadMate 2000

The new Magellan RoadMate 2000 GPS navigation system was announced and should be available this month, just in time for the holidays. A few more details follow. The new form factor is the big news here along with the price. Basic navigation in a small pocketable size. Nice. It comes pre-loaded with maps and Points of Interest of the US, comes with an integrated battery for easy use away from the car (up to 3 hours). This is a big help when you want to program a route sitting in your living room, or when you need to charge the mobile phone and you only have one power outlet. It comes with a lot of features that you would expect from Magellan, and the quality of a SiRF star III chipset. It has an SD card slot.
