200 Million GPS Enabled Mobile Phones and Counting

Just in case you were wondering where the GPS market was going, think about these numbers. Qualcomm just released some information that says they have shipped over 200 million GPS enabled phones (doesn't include other manufacturers) in the last few years. This compares to the few million that Garmin and TomTom will ship this year. The company calls the technology gpsOne assisted GPS and it supports a whole bunch of goodies for navigation and safety applications. My hunch is that either the applications aren't user friendly enough for the users to be able to use them, or the wireless suppliers haven't allowed users to access the GPS navigation or other functions on the phones.
