NAVTEQ revenue, profit up.

NAVTEQ, mapping and data provider, announced that their sales and profit were up for the third quarter over last year, by 16% and 22%, respectively, versus year ago. "We are pleased with our third quarter results given the challenges we have faced in 2006," said Judson Green, President and Chief Executive Officer of NAVTEQ. "Solid third quarter revenue performance and effective cost management helped to drive improved margins and profit growth. We expect to continue this trend as the year comes to a close." They are concerned about slower car sales and a slower than expected market for navigational systems in those high end cars in Europe.
