GPS Steals and Deals - 1/12/06
Well, it's the New Year, and a lot of deals have expired on GPS units after the big holiday season. That's the bad news, but the good news is that a lot of prices have come down and are stying down. The TomTom GiveGive program expired on 1/6, but prices at Amazon and others have stayed low.
I would expect some decent prices from here on out on some of the older models as new GPS models have been announced this past week at CES 2007. So here's a rundown of popular models that are still at decent prices.
The Nuvi 350 - Best Selling GPS at Amazon - Nuvi's are selling hard with the recent price drops, Flat is in and these prices are way down from a few weeks ago:
Garmin Nuvi 350– recent price drops put it around $470; Down $200 in a couple of months.
Garmin Nuvi 360 is now around $550; a few months ago this was well over $600.
Mio C310x - The Cheap-O party is over, but a quick check on Circuit City shows this at $299. Know what you are buying - Check out our Review of the Mio C310x.
Other Deals on GPS's. Here’s a quick rundown:

Garmin StreetPilot C330 – Now below $325 for this very capable, maps pre-loaded device. Earlier this year this was selling for the mid-to upper $400’s.
Garmin StreetPilot C340 – Skip it and buy the Garmin C530 whose price is down to $399. Better chipset, and better screen for about the same price ($10 more).

The TomTom 910 has come down A LOT in the last few months, and is about $540 for this widescreened unit. Great if you have a Bluetooth phone and can use the TomTom PLUS system for weather, traffic (with subscription) and more.
