Garmin to Show Super Bowl Ad

NFLFootball.jpg
In a bullish move Garmin is set to show their first Super Bowl ad, sometime in the second quarter. The spots are going for big money, exactly what, I don’t know. I have to admit that I am sad that the New England Patriots aren’t going to the big game (I live near Boston), but with an outing like the Colts had last Sunday they deserve to step up to the Super Bowl.

The Garmin Blog has been running a series of posts about an ad shoot that is going on, and one has to wonder if this is the Super Bowl ad that is being put to film right now. I know that you can work wonders when you really have to, but can you crank out a commercial in two weeks’ time? Especially one that will cost so much money to air the very first time?

For clarification, the Yao spot featured on the blog is not part of our Super Bowl effort. We've shot on some tight timelines, but 2 weeks for a Super Bowl spot would be nuts; there's a few months work behind this one.

Expect to see super bowl-specific details very soon..
