Lowrance Releases MapCreate 7

Lowrance has launched new mapping products for its GPS units. The big product is MAPCREATE USA 7 SOFTWARE which has a ton of features to really add a lot to your mapping and GPS experience. They have added detailed data on 3,000 inland US lakes, complete with depth contours. The package also features topographic contour lines with elevations, enhanced shoreline detail for coastal and inland waters with nav aids, 2 million searchable Point-of-Interests, highways, roads, and landmarks.
The package also includes a long list of features that you can see at their website. Really sounds like they filled the dataset out here. They use an encryption algorithm that ties the map data to the SD card, so you’ll need to pay attention to what you put the data on, and how you manage those SD cards.

I've always loved Lowrance products, and their LEI extras. I have to say though, that I am sorely dissappointed in MapCreate 7 and their support. Support is non-existent, and it has taken me a month to make 6 maps due to extensive I/O and RunTime errors. Help? Not to be found. I'm really disspoointed in this product,
I too am a very big fan of Lowance GPS units. I've owned an iFinder h20 for several years and recently upgraded to the HuntC. I also own a few cables and two mounts from LEI which have worked flawlessly. However, I concure with the above statement that support from LEI Extras is non-existant. Their on-hold message actually gives you the option to "leave a message and we will return your call in a few days." Had the Mapcreate 7 for three days and still can't get the card reader to work on Vista which is absolutely required for this product to work. The instructions for the software are so old, they still reference Netscape (huh?). The online instructions/support are useless for troubleshooting problems.
Though it's not the exact same purpose, I've had a lot of luck with ExpertGPS and my iFinders.
