So, it's always good to see your own opinions backed up by other educated GPS users, and writer Don Lindich has taken a look at the Mio C310x with an overall favorable opinion. I happen to think that the Mio C310x is a solid unit, with a few blemishes that need to be acknowledged and then quickly forgiven when you consider the rock bottom pricing. This review takes a look at the Mio C310x and points out that it doesn't have text to speech which is often found in higher priced units, but it is found to be an "Excellent-performing GPS". He goes on to say "I encourage anyone curious about GPS to pick one up and give it a try - I am confident you will be pleased and not want to go back to being without one, especially if you spend a lot of time on the road or enjoy road trips." Worth checking out the rest of his review. ReadMore

Just spoke with a MioTech Cust. service rep.
The test version of the updated US maps have a glitch hence the delayed release. It's expected to be released aroung June 20, 2007 on a DVD.
Don't know the pricing yet!
The Canadian map update is also expected to be released Later (~2months?) after the US map update release but will need to be put on the SD card!!
It's Terrible how it's NOT integrated with the US Maps as a combined North American map like the Navteq North American map!!

I have owned and used a mio c310x since early december 2006 (9 months).
approximately 5 months ago I downloaded the canada map onto a regular SD card and put it in the GPS. when I turned it on, the canada map was integrated with the US map! amazing.
very satisfied with the unit. it has only needed the main power switch turned off and on once to bring it back to life. that was months ago and I dont know why.
It is also hackable to play videos. too bad it was replaced with newer models.
