Mio Digiwalker C230

Mio has announced the new Mio C230 GPS at the IFA trade show in Berlin. No announcements about US availability, but look for this unit as the follow-up unit to the Mio C220 that took the value end of the market and created a solid performer where there were few. The C230 for Europe will include MioMap v3 and with Tele Atlas maps of the 22 countries in Western Europe, the C230 remains extremely affordable and is perfect for users who are new to GPS navigation or those looking for a second device for the family. Mio was criticized for the dim screen on the Mio C220, which I found acceptable, but not overly luxurious in brightness in my review of the C220, so I would hope and expect that they improve the screen brightness in the new edition.

Let’s hope for a follow-up announcement for the US soon. Then of course I can get a Mio C230 in for a review as soon after that announcement as possible.
