GPS Steals and Deals - 8/25

Notable News:

  • The Pocket Loox N100 (that has been discontinued) has a $50 rebate on it, brining this unit below $200. PCMag did a review on the Loox N100 and thought it was OK, not great.
  • Again some prices in the Sunday Circulars can be way above online prices - Nuvi 200 for $349 at Best Buy, for about $269 with free shipping at Amazon (see below). Wow. Check online before buying.


    Units in the ~$200 - $300 range

  • The Nuvi 250 is under $300 this week ($295), while the Nuvi 200 is $269. Both very nice prices for these units. See my Hands on Review of the Nuvi 250 for an idea of how well this will perform. Maps are the only difference: Nuvi 200: Continental U.S., Hawaii and Puerto Rico (no Alaska or Canada detail), Nuvi 250: All of North America (no Mexico).
  • TomTom ONE - $229 with FREE SHIPPING. It’s the #2 selling GPS at Amazon; Best GPS at this price. or if you want a little extra savings, consider the TomTom ONE Refurb
  • The Mio C220 is selling around $175 through Amazon sellers. Read my Review of the Mio C220.

  • Garmin Nuvi 360 adds Bluetooth to the Nuvi 350 capabilities and is now $446.

    Widescreen GPS Units

  • The Nuvi 650 offers the widescreen and no Bluetooth or traffic for $464.

  • Garmin Nuvi 660 - Price around $579 at Amazon. See my Hands on Review of the Nuvi 660

  • The Nuvi 680 is selling at Amazon - $672 - see my Hands on Review of the Nuvi 680.

  • Garmin Nuvi 670 - Need to travel to Europe and navigate when you get there? Garmin Nuvi 670 comes pre-loaded with both US and Euro maps. It's the very capable Nuvi 660 base unit with the extra maps pre-loaded.

  • The Mio C520 has dropped in price a LOT - Now $307. Low Priced Widescreen navigation with Text to Speech.

  • The Magellan Maestro 4000 is selling in the low $300's, widescreen with AAA POI content - No Text to Speech.

  • Consider the Nuvi 370 which has Text to Speech
  • The More Economical Nuvi 270, or

    GPS Rebates this Week:

  • Garmin is moving out some GPSMap 60 models - $50 rebate on the GPSMap 60Cx and GPSMap 60CSx. I think that for the extra money, get the 60 CSx! See my hands on review of the Garmin GPSMap 60 CSx - Offer Ends 12/31/07.
