HP iPaq 314 Travel Companion

HP Announced that they are getting into the mix with a standalone GPS, the HP iPaq 314 travel companion. The HP 314 appears to be legit with some strong features including a high sensitivity GPS chipset, and a widescreen which is higher resolution (800x480 resolution) vs the lower resolution of the rest of the pack - 480x272.

The unit will come loaded with TeleAtlas maps for the United States and Canada and content for more than 12 million points of interest, as well as turn-by-turn directions and text to speech verbal guidance. Some photos are showing that the HP iPaq 314 will have TeleAtlas latest maps with 3-D building footprints in some cities. Cool. The unit will also come with Bluetooth and an SD slot.

Price is expected to be in the $449 range.
