Garmin Nuvi 285WT - $119 at Amazon
The Garmin Nuvi 285WT is a full featured widescreen GPS that offers text-to-speech, bluetooth hands free, and for a while, access to MSN Direct's load of features including traffic, weather, movie times, local gas prices and more. The downside here is that MSN Direct is stopping in January 2012, making the MSN direct features short-lived.
The upside is that the unit itself is a solid unit, offering a lot of capability at this price - widescreen GPS navigation with Bluetooth. The discount is pretty significant, driving the populatrity of this GPS at Amazon to the top of their best seller list.

TomTom XXL 530S - $149 Amazon - 5-Inch GPS Text to Speech
The TomTom 530S is on sale for $149 which is a pretty good deal on this 5-inch screened unit. When it was announced last September, it listed for $279. Most widescreens are 4.3-inch screens, but the TomTom gives you a bunch more real estate combined with a good set of capabilities, including text to speech - yes it says the street names.
The units features a ton of TomTom features including MapsShare, IQ Routes to give you optimal routing on roads, full maps of North America, and an easy folding EasyPort mount that offers quick on, quick off mounting with easy storage.

Garmin Forerunner 305 - $152 at Amazon - Running and Biking GPS
The Garmin Forerunner 305 has been a long standing, well performing GPS trainer for a lot of runners and bikers alike. I continue to find that people enjoy training and keep ing track of that training with a GPS enabled device, which allows them to not only track mileage but also pace, heart rate, and route on the map. With communities like Garmin Connect , you can upload your data to share the route with others, while also finding out about new routes in what ever area you are in or going to.
The Garmin Forerunner 305 comes with a heart rate monitor and a design that allows it to grab and lock onto satellite signals quickly and reliably. I have used it successfully to bike with too. With the optional Garmin Forerunner Bike Mount

TomTom ONE 130 - $79
The TomTom ONE 130 is a pretty basic GPS navigator with the guts of a TomTom, and a limited but very functional feature set. Offering maps of the US and Canada, solid routing, and a set of TomTom branded features like Help Me! - the quick way to see critical location information in an emergency, MapShare - their way of sharing crowdsourced map fixes, and the EasyPort mount - a foldable mount that makes sticking the GPS into a purse, briefcase or gove compartment a lot easier.
The TomTom 130 is $79 at Best Buy plus about $7 shipping. For comparison, you can get the TomTom ONE 130 at Amazon
for $89 with free shipping.

TomTom XL 330S - $101 at Amazon
The TomTom XL 330S is a solid unit that packs great features - widescreen and text to speech to start, and is currently a great deal at Amazon.
Why do I need a new GPS?
Yea, I have a few of them, but bear with me. I like to have models around from many manufacturers to reference as I do reviews, and the time has come to upgrade the TomTom ONE XL's maps. So while TomTom is running discount of 40% on their map upgrades right now, the roughly $50 price seemed steep compared to a whole new unit that is slimmer and comes with the EasyPort mount. At about $100, the new one seemed like a decent step, and it would save me the small but distinct hassle of upgrading the maps. I was considering buying one through TomTom.com with a trade-in through their trade in program, but at $199 list, minus a $35 trade (roughly), I was a lot higher than the Amazon price.
The TomTom XL 330S is a good solid navigator with a decent feature set that will satisfy most users. I think it's a great buy at $107. Anyway, welcome to the stable of GPS units here at the GPSLodge; see my Full Review of the TomTom XL 330S

TomTom XL 325 - $89 - Amazon Deal of the Day
Amazon has another GPS Deal of the Day - this time a TomTom XL 325, a widescreen unit (4.3-inch) with US maps, MapShare, millions of Points of Interest, EasyPort mounting, easy and quick re-touring if you miss your turn, and no it does not have Text to Speech. I highly recommend Text to Speech, but if you want a good solid entry level, this is a great price and the widescreen is a nice bonus. The units comes with the "Latest Map Guarantee" which means that if they upgrade maps within 30-days of you getting your GPS, they will give you a free upgrade.

- Magellan Roadmate 1470 - $139 which is almost 50% off the $249 regular price. This biggie 4.7-inch widescreen is bigger than the regular 4.3-inch widescreens.

Co-Pilot Live - $19 for the Holiday
Beginning this morning at 8AM EST, Co-Pilot Live will retail for $19, a drop from the usually $35. This little mobile phone application has been tearing up the iTunes App store as one of the most popular navigation applications with a solid set of features, a reasonable, now amazing price, and good feedback.

Similarly CVS is offering a $79 GPS for dummies - yes you'd be a dummy to buy this. Spend your money on something you hardly need a manual to use like a Garmin or a TomTom - Black Friday offers a good chance to get high quality at the same price.

Garmin Nuvi 750 - $169 at WalMart
Starting the whole holiday shopping early? WalMart hopes so, and is offering the Garmin Nuvi 750 on sale for $169. The widescreen unit (4.3-inches) has text to speech - it says street names, North American Maps, the ability to advance plan routes ahead of time from point A to B.
