Garmin C330 and C340 running Cheap at Amazon

Another couple of blowout prices to talk about at Amazon. The Garmin C-series is running cheap these days. The Garmin StreetPilot C330 (pre-loaded maps, touch screen) was running $450 or so this spring, and it’s now under $400, while the Garmin StreetPilot C340 (pre-loaded maps, touchscreen, text to speech turn indications and optional traffic alerts), is now about $450. Again, these are running several hundred dollars off list price. These must be clearing out in time for the new Garmin StreetPilot C550 hitting the shelves. If you want more info on the StreetPilot C340 – read our review from late last year.

Also if you are interested in these, check out the Garmin Nuvi 350 – it’s moving out ahead of the new Garmin Nuvi 360, and is bargain priced off its $900 list.

Amazon Sale on Garmin StreetPilot 2730 and Magellan RoadMate 700

Amazon is running a few GPS specials this week in their electronics section; the Garmin StreetPilot 2730, and the Magellan RoadMate 700. The Garmin StreetPilot 2730 is a newer model that has XM Satellite capability. The StreetPilot 2730 uses this XM data to automatically calculate and suggest faster alternative routes long before traffic starts backing up. The StreetPilot 2730 offers more than 180 channels of XM satellite radio channels. You can send XM and navigation audio to your car stereo through the StreetPilot's integrated FM wireless transmitter or via an integrated 3.5 mm stereo headphone/line-out plug.

The Magellan RoadMate 700 is a solid player in the mid-tier range that while a bit long in the tooth has some good features from a good company to make it worth checking out at this price.

While you are at it - check out the Garmin Nuvi 350 - I'll say it again, this is a low price compared to its $900 list price. They must be moving them out before the New Garmin Nuvi 360 moves in. It's worth a look too.

Garmin Nuvi 350 at Blowout Prices

Garmin nuvi

So, I knew that the Garmin Nuvi 350 is popular, but have you noticed that it's in the Top 10 for electronics sold at Amazon, beating out things like an iPod Nano ?!?! I recently reviewed the Mio C310 which has a similarly small footprint and loved the form factor. I think that people are catching on, and the rock bottom price doesn't hurt either. Word has it that the Garmin Nuvi 350 was rated highest of the models tested in a recent Consumer Reports magazine. Yea - it's that good. These are selling at a steep discount to their $900+ list price; they must be moving them out to make room for the new Garmin Nuvi 360's that are coming later this month with Bluetooth capabilities. If you don't need the Bluetooth, this price is great on the Nuvi 350. As always, Amazon offfers free shipping on these.

Father's Day Deal: Garmin Forerunner 201 Less than $90 at Amazon

Amazon is selling the Garmin Forerunner 201 for the lowest price I have seen. Right now the price is $89 with free shipping from Amazon. If Dad's a fitness nut, this is a great buy on the Garmin Forerunner 201. The device is still a popular item even though the new Forerunner 205 launched earlier this year. For the more advanced fitness enthusiast, the Forerunner 205 is a great product, and no a bad price at around $200.

I have the Forerunner 201 and have reviewed the Forerunner 205 – see related article. I’ll say that the Forerunner 201 is still relevant and useful to many, especially at this attractive price; it still connects to the PC, still gets training data on your runs and still helps train. Briefly, the Forerunner 205 does have dramatically improved reception in tough areas like under tree cover and in “urban canyons” and the Forerunner 205 has improved training features, including the “Courses” feature that allows you to race yourself on the same course versus a previous run. If you are budget minded, are running in the open and aren’t turned on by some of the advanced training features, the Garmin Forerunner 201 is a good choice.
