Pharos is launching a re-branded ETEN Glofiish X500 phones/GPS/PDA. The unit comes with the omnipresent SiRF star III chipset, as well as Bluetooth, WiFi, and EDGE technology in a svelte 0.6 inch thick phone chassis. The 2 megapixel camera and 2.8 inch screen, 400 megahertz processor, 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB RAM. A micro SD slot helps you add more memory. Should be available this quarter.

Pharos announced that they are launching the Pharos Traveler 525, a PDA based GPS device that is the first such integrated device to include WiFi, Bluetooth in the Windows Mobile platform. the big news here is that it also comes pre-loaded with Skype for Pocket PC for PC to PC communication all over the world. Because it's Windows based, you'll be able to sync up with your desktop or laptop to bring your addressbook, appointments and documents with you. The Pharos traveler 525 comes pre-loaded with maps of 50 US cities.
Pharos has launched the Traveler 505, an easy to use all-in-one device that has a wide screen for a handheld, voice prompting and pre-loaded Points of Interest. Take it with you or take it on the road, the Pharos Traveler 505 comes equipped with the SiRF Star III receiver chipset, known for high accuracy and low power consumption.
Launched: Microsoft Streets and Trips 2006 with Pharos GPS Unit
Microsoft has announced the availability of the new Streets & Trips 2006 software with included USB based GPS unit. This is the latest version of the popular mapping and travel software application for the U.S. and Canada. New with this release is support for Voice-Prompted Directions which provides a hands free option of delivering turn by turn directions.
The GPS is provided by Pharos Science and Application Inc. and turns any laptop, Windows Mobile based PDA or Smart phone into an all inclusive GPS tracking device. All you have to do is plug in the GPS Locator via a USB port and you can start using the mapping software in real time.
Pharos has released a new compact GPS reciever that includes MP3 support in a small handheld size that can go anywhere as well as funciton well as an automotive navigation system.
